Those of us in God’s Church who observe the Sabbath and Holy Days as required just completed the Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread. These Holy Days have deep and rich meaning for our understanding of God’s “Plan of Salvation” and the key components that form its foundation. We are reminded of just how important Jesus Christ is and why He is so critical to the “plan.” When one realizes that He is the Creating Force of Elohim, you begin to recognize the magnitude of the price that was paid to redeem us from sin. Just think about that for a moment–– the Creator became incarnate so He could die for His creation–– that indeed, is a stunning realization (John 1:1-3)!

From the time humanity failed to obey His command NOT to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, God had a “rescue plan” in place to redeem us from that fall [a.k.a. sin]. And so after the Noachian Deluge and the confounding of languages, God propositions a man named Abram [a.k.a. Abraham] with an opportunity to become a great nation [Birthright] and provide “seed” [Scepter] by which all the families of the earth would be blessed (Gen 12:1-3). Abram accepts, and this begins the story of one man’s family, which ultimately becomes the continuum of a nation called Israel that’s knitted throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It’s a rather well-thought-out, strategically planned story with events precisely timed that stretch across mankind’s complete existence.

It includes covenant promises specific to Israel, but with the idea that non-Israelites [a.k.a. Gentiles] would eventually have a pathway opened to them by a “seed” [singular] that would come at some point in the timeline from Israel’s bloodline. Paul sheds light on the fact that the seed, not seeds, meaning the nation, but rather Jesus Christ, the Messiah alone, is that “Seed” from the tribe of Judah (Gal. 3:16)! The original covenant made with Israel would be amended to allow an upgrade in promise to humanity through Christ our Savior. Notice: “Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He takes away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Heb. 10:9-10). And “all” means all–– Gentiles included!

Clearly, this scripture indicates that“establishing the second” [the amendment, Christ’s sacrifice] extends beyond Israel to include the Gentiles. The writer continues to explain that Christ offered Himself once and is now the propitiation, the High Priest, for the whole world (1 John 2:2), sitting at the right hand of God the Father. He goes on to say: “This is the covenant [the extended upgrade of the promise] that I will make with them [all of mankind] after those days [when He returns—the millennium and beyond], says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more” (Heb. 10:16-17).

This obviously is heralding the “long-term” effect this amended covenant will have on all of humanity, but certainly doesn’t dismiss the immediate availability for those who answer God’s call and, through repentance and baptism, access the benefit of having His laws in our hearts and minds now, in our lifetimes, and become a member of His ecclesia—the assembly! This is the means by which we can now enter into a covenant relationship with our Lord and Father. Through the spiritual circumcision of faith, we are now considered “spiritual Israelites” (Rom. 2:24-29). This provides “all” of mankind an avenue to enter the Commonwealth of Israel’s covenant, including Gentiles, but with the added benefit of the “new promise” of immortality by means of His Spirit in our minds and hearts (Rom. 8:10-11)!

Notice, as mentioned, this includes the Gentiles. “Wherefore remember… in time past Gentiles in the flesh… called Uncircumcision… That at that time you were without Christ… aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are made near by the blood of Christ” Eph. 2:11-13).

What’s being described is that there are no ethnic limitations. That’s right! Regardless of your ethnicity, as was mentioned in Torah, if you are a non-Israelite, but live in the land and become circumcised, you are as good as a “native born Israelite!” Remember, “For you are all [including Gentiles] the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew [Israelite] nor Greek [Gentile], there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one [includes everyone] in Christ Jesus. And if you be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise” (Gal. 3:26-28). If you are Christ’s, you are a spiritual Israelite, regardless of your ethnicity!

Now, under this new Covenant, which is an extension of the original, except the Scepter, our Messiah, Jesus Christ, is now included. The benefit of this is that through the spiritual circumcision of repentance and baptism, we can “all” become part of the Assembly [a.k.a. the Church]. And as Paul said, “But he is a Jew [Israelite], which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit and not in the letter: whose praise is not of men, but of God” (Rom. 2:29). There it is! Are you a true-blood Israelite? Or a true-blood German, African, Latino, Polynesian, Mongolian, etc., etc.? It doesn’t matter in God’s Kingdom! Once you are resurrected, your physical DNA has no value! Instead, all of us are of the same fold who are part of a common assembly, one body, which is Spiritual Israel.

Christ Himself explained it very clearly. “I am the good shepherd and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold [non-Israelites, Gentiles]: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold and one shepherd” (John 10:14-16). Notice what Paul says. “For he [Christ] is our peace, who has made both one [Israelite and Gentile], and has broken down the middle wall of partition [division, obstacle] between us” (Eph. 2:14). Paul continues saying they are no more strangers and foreigners, [the Gentiles] but rather fellow citizens with the saints, and the household of God, built on the same foundations as Israel was in the original covenant with physical promises (Eph.  2:19-22).

God’s Ultimate Goal is for all of mankind to become part of the spiritual seed of Israel by the blood of Jesus Christ. In other words, ultimately, we are to become of one blood, blood brothers, through Christ. To be “born of a resurrection” unto spirit life.

Ultimately, God’s Goal is to have all of humanity, regardless of our physical DNA, to be considered as Israelite blood in “one body” through Christ (Col. 3:10-15). Yes, planet Earth, after the millennium and it is purified and burned with fire, will become fashioned after Israel, with 12 gates to the capital city, New Jerusalem, named after the twelve tribes. At its foundation, there will be 12 layers of jasper, sapphire, and emerald, along with much more, named after the twelve apostles. The city will measure about 1,400 square miles, with the height matching the breadth and length, and will be the glistening jewel representing the Capital City of the world, which “might possibly” be renamed Israel. Those who prevailed with God the Father; He will dwell with them forever (Rev. 21:3).

At this time, New Jerusalem will be open to all the immortals. [Remember, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. At this time, flesh-and-blood humans will not exist.] All who want to come into the city, which is home to the Father and His firstborn son, Jesus the Christ, who is the temple of the city (Rev. 21:22), can enter. The Father and Christ will make their home with their family of former humans, now spiritually “born sons of God,” for all eternity, as a family of immortal spirit beings, living on a planet that once was inhabited by human beings, but now is populated by empowered resurrected immortals. (Rev. 21:1-6)

John concludes, “He that overcomes [That would be Christians, regardless of their former human ethnicity that are now spirit by a resurrection] shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son” (Rev. 21:7). God’s Ultimate Goal is to have all come to repentance, and this is why it seems to be taking so long (2 Peter 3:8-9). Because it is our Father’s good pleasure that all “may enter in through the gates into the city” (Rev. 22:14)!
